"Preventing immigration fraud from ripping off families and destroying their dreams is a top priority and we're sending a strong message that we will prosecute those who prey on the immigrant community to the fullest extent of the law."
- Mike Feuer, L.A. City Attorney
In partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, Councilmember Nury Martinez and Councilmember Gil Cedillo, and local legal aid organizations, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer has launched a multi-layered initiative to address widespread immigration fraud. These efforts include educating immigrants on the new laws and helping them avoid being ripped off. Additionally, City Attorney Feuer has hosted a number of community meetings throughout Los Angeles in order to help immigrants with the application process, educate them on how to avoid being scammed and to take complaints if they have been victimized. If you believe you have been a victim of immigration fraud, please call our partners at the Los Angeles Department of Consumer and Business Affairs at 800-593-8222.
