"The House of Representatives took action this week that will jeopardize public safety in America. Passing the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act recklessly undermines protections adopted by states throughout the nation, and allows many individuals with dangerous histories and no training to carry hidden, loaded guns in public throughout the United States. It is indefensible that the House has made it easier to carry loaded, concealed weapons across state lines, just as we are stepping up efforts to stop acts of homegrown terrorism. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act endangers the lives of law enforcement officers, turning routine interactions, such as traffic stops, into dangerous and unpredictable situations. Because of the dangers that this legislation poses to civilians and officers, many organizations have spoken out against it, including the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, the Fraternal Order of Police, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Major Cities Chiefs of Police Association, the Police Foundation, the Police Executive Research Forum, and a coalition of 17 Attorneys General."
"With American lives at risk, the U.S. Senate must stop this outrageous legislation. Prosecutors Against Gun Violence stands with law enforcement leaders across the United States in strong opposition to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act."
