"In the aftermath of today's school shooting, our City is united in supporting the victims, and hoping they recover soon. This incident is the 14th school shooting since the beginning of 2018. Though we don’t yet know the facts of how the twelve-year-old student allegedly got the gun, moments like this remind us how important it is for gun owners to safely store their weapons. My office prosecutes adults when kids gain access to guns that haven't been safely stored. We do so for good reason -- safely storing firearms saves lives."
