If you have requested relocation assistance by calling 877-238-9555 and have not yet been helped, the following mediation process has been set up as a result of the court order L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer won against SoCal Gas:
1. Call the SoCal Gas Temporary Relocation Mediation line at 818-700-3600 and speak with a claims specialist (between 8am and 5pm) or leave a message,
A claims specialist will respond to you within 48 hours.*
If your relocation issue cannot be resolved by the claims specialist within 72 hours, you will be given the phone number to initiate a confidential, nonbinding mediation through the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Service, to be conducted by a retired judge. You can only initiate mediation if you have completed the steps described above.
Mediation will take place by phone, videochat or in person, depending on the convenience of the parties and the mediator. Neither your legal counsel nor legal counsel for SoCal Gas can participate.
During the mediation, the mediator will attempt to resolve your relocation request. If unable to come to an agreement, the mediator will provide their proposed resolution.
If the request still cannot be resolved, the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney may seek additional relief from the court.
If you believe you're being price-gouged on temporary lodging expenses, please call the LA County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs at 800-593-8222. They will evaluate the complaint and perform an investigation. If warranted, they will forward the investigate back to our office for prosecution.
