STATEMENT BY CITY ATTORNEY MIKE FEUER ON SCOTUS DACA RULING

"I stand with DACA recipients and all of the DREAMERS because they exemplify core American values of education, hard work and belief in a better tomorrow. Today, the Supreme Court of the United States said the Trump administration can no longer ignore their collective voice and their interests and contributions to our society. Our nation is stronger because of the DACA program.

On the heels of another extremely consequential Supreme Court opinion this week – protecting workers from being fired because of who they are, who they love, and how they identify – today’s opinion is another step forward for an America that is more fair, more equal, and more just.”

In October of 2019, City Attorney Feuer and County Supervisor Hilda Solis led a nationwide coalition of 109 cities, counties and organizations in filing a brief at SCOTUS in support of DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
