Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer Secures Jail Sentence for Westwood Nanny Accused of Secretly Taking Nude Photos of Young Children in Her Care

September 23, 2016

LOS ANGELES – City Attorney Mike Feuer today announced that his office successfully secured a conviction and one year jail sentence against a nanny for secretly taking nude photos of three young children she had been caring for at their Westwood home for two years.

Matilde Flores, 48, previously entered a plea of no contest to possession of child pornography and two counts of child annoying. Today, Flores was sentenced to one year in jail, five years of probation and is prohibited by the Court from being alone with any minor children or performing any work with minors. Flores is also required to register as a sex offender. A 10-year restraining order was also granted for the victims.

Feuer’s prosecutors alleged that Flores began taking nude photos of two three year-old boys and their six year-old brother in the bathroom of their parents’, home starting in December 2013. The boys’ parents became suspicious after one of the boys said Flores had taken naked photos of them on her phone. The parents immediately called police after the father followed up and found images of his sons on Flores’ phone.

Flores was arrested on June 10, 2016 and her phone was seized by police. The phone was examined and 199 images of naked children were recovered.

Deputy City Attorney Lara Drino successfully prosecuted the case.
